Matt Davis is a partner in the Dallas office of Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors. Mr. Davis has extensive experience in litigation, practicing across the country in federal and state trial and appellate courts, bankruptcy courts, and arbitration. His practice involves a variety of complex commercial litigation, with an emphasis on matters related to financial services. In addition, Mr. Davis has counseled clients on a wide array of regulatory and compliance issues.

Before joining Brewer, Attorneys and Counselors, Mr. Davis was a partner at Locke Lord LLP.

Mr. Davis’ experience includes:

  • Representation of healthcare companies in individual and class action litigation related to billing practices, including RICO claims, contract and lease issues;

  • Representation of a private equity group in the acquisition of a senior living community through a Chapter 11 asset sale, concluding in 11 days of trial on a variety of sale and confirmation objections;

  • Representation of charitable organization in RICO class action asserting hundreds of millions of dollars in damages based on allegedly misappropriated donations spanning decades;

  • Representation of financial institution acting as bond trustee against various claims related to alleged mismanagement;

  • Representation of high-net worth client on a variety of issues related to potential litigation, including advice related to potential asset acquisitions and dispositions;

  • Representation of financial institution in multi-day trial in which the plaintiff sought millions of dollars in damages, which resulted in a favorable defense judgment;

  • Representation of national bank in mass action related to a mixed-use real-estate development.
