International Insurance Co. V. RSR Corporation

The Firm represented RSR Corporation in a dispute over insurance liability arising from environmental cleanup claims in West Dallas and Harbor Island.

RSR Corporation, one of the largest lead smelters and mineral processors, sought coverage under an insurance policy issued by International Insurance Company related to claimed personal injuries, property damage, and cleanup costs associated with smelting operations. The insurer contended that RSR was not entitled to remaining insurance coverage purchased by the preceding company, citing policy exclusions.

At trial, a jury ruled in favor of RSR, entitling the company to approximately $30 million in insurance coverage for the asserted environmental liabilities.
