BIO
John Schmidtberger is a senior litigation consultant in the Dallas office of Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors. He joined the firm in 2006.
Mr. Schmidtberger received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting in 1980 from the University of Notre Dame. After graduation, he joined Arthur Andersen & Co., in the Dallas Audit Division.
In 1983, Mr. Schmidtberger joined Overhead Door Corporation, a national manufacturer of commercial and residential building products, headquartered in Dallas, as Senior Internal Auditor. He was promoted to Manager of Internal Audit in 1984, and in 1987, was appointed Plant Controller of the local Dallas, Texas Division. In 1991, Mr. Schmidtberger was selected to manage the consolidation of the Accounting/Finance function for the largest division in the company. In 1996, he was promoted to the position of Strategic Planning Manager.
In 1998, Mr. Schmidtberger was appointed Chief Financial Officer of Management Insights, Inc., a Dallas-based consulting firm serving Fortune 500 companies. In that capacity, he directed the Accounting, Finance, and Treasury functions, tracked the company’s stock investment portfolio, and oversaw the company’s Insurance/Risk programs.
Mr. Schmidtberger is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the local Dallas Chapter of Certified Public Accountants.
